Sailing and Boarding

A cruise aboard the Summertime is a unique vacation experience, perfect for small groups – singles, couples, or a family. Whether you choose to bask in the sunny breeze or take a turn at the wheel, the refreshing sites and sounds of the sea will bring you relaxation and enjoyment. Private charters are welcome and tailored cruises can be arranged to suit a special interest, such as coastal ecology, boatbuilding, or Maine history.

In addition to day sails, the Summertime offers a schedule of three- to six-day cruises that are affordable and ideal for small groups or families. Three-day cruises are compact and offer a taste of sailing and a glimpse of the Maine coast – longer cruises provide time to relax and visit the area and people aboard.

Passengers are encouraged to become involved in all aspects of sailing or to just relax and enjoy the scenery. At fifty-three feet in length, the Summertime will accommodate up to seven people, while providing an intimate atmosphere for relaxing with family and friends.

Blue Hill BayDays on the Summertime are structured loosely, allowing plenty of time to explore the many interesting islands in the calm, protected waters of the Penobscot and Blue Hill Bays. Late afternoons find the Summertime in a quiet anchorage, providing passengers with the opportunity to row ashore and explore the rugged coastline of Maine.
